THE PERSON BEHIND THE LESSONS

Meet Brandon Brookes

I'm a university English instructor who also works one-to-one with teens and adults. I help learners build stronger reading, writing, vocabulary, and communication skills through lessons made for their level, goals, and interests.

HOW I TEACH

Start with the learner, then choose the task

Textbooks can be useful, but I create most materials myself. An individual lesson begins with what the learner can already do and what they need to do next.

01 · NOTICE

Look at real work

We begin with a conversation, a reading, a draft, schoolwork, or an exam task. I look for the specific skill that will make the next step possible.

02 · PRACTICE

Build a targeted lesson

I choose or make a task that fits the learner's level and interests. Reading, vocabulary, discussion, and production connect instead of appearing as isolated drills.

03 · FOLLOW UP

Explain what comes next

After each lesson, I send specific written feedback on the work we did and the next task. The plan can change as the learner makes progress or a new need appears.
